Paris: Éditions Raymond Schall, [1944]

Conceived by the journalist Jean Éparvier during the Occupation, started in May 1944 and published in November 1944, the book went through five editions, at one time selling over 1,000 copies a day. The photographs were taken throughout the Occupation, principally by Roger Schall (1904–1995), an internationally known photographer and brother of the publisher. The cover has this belly band with a patriotic message.
