Jean Éparvier (1903–1993), À Paris, sous la botte des Nazis (2)

Paris: Éditions Raymond Schall, [1944]

The opening on display includes photographs of the symbol of the Milice, the paramilitary force which helped round up Jews; soldiers in the Légion des volontaires français contre le bolchevisme (LVF) which by 1944 had been integrated into the Division SS Charlemagne; and a poster with a portrait of Philippe Henriot (1889–1944), poet and devout Catholic, who directed the propaganda broadcasts of the Vichy government and was a part-time member of the Milice. He had been assassinated in Paris on 28 June 1944.
