A hand-coloured view of the farm complex at Hougoumont, on the right of Wellington’s line. The photographer of the Souvenir captured a scene very similar to that recorded several decades earlier by Michael Egerton in his Here and there over the water, also featured in this theme.The building being pointed at is the chapel, all that survived of the chateau of Hougoumont. Behind it is the North gate. On the right is the barn.
