Compiègne (Oise): Imprimerie de Compiègne, 1945

This book of over 300 pages, with ten plates, some hand coloured, by four artists, was published by the author on 31 July 1945. Its length, the illustrations and the quality of production are exceptional for a self-published book. After the defeat of the French army, Villeroy spent most of the next 44 months in Stalag IVD. There is a collective dedication to 16 fellow prisoners, including from Great Britain, USA, Italy, Australia and Indochina. The four artists who illustrated the book were prisoners with him.
