The library filled the entire first storey, with spectacular domed vestibules at each corner. A section of the south wing is shown here, with watercolour used to convey the effect of lighting. A finished version of this drawing had already been completed with a solid roof, indicating that the skylights were in fact the last element of the design to be added.
