Behind the Scenes
Contributors to A damned serious business
‘A damned serious business’ is the result of the work and co-operation of numerous individuals and institutions.
The exhibition was curated by Mark Nicholls and John Wells.
The digitisation of selected Waterloo items has been made possible by a gift from the Howard and Abby Milstein Foundation.
We are grateful to the Duke of Wellington, the Earl of Cardigan, and the Mistress and Fellows of Girton College, Cambridge, for permission to include images of items to which they control copyright. We also thank the Mistress and Fellows of Girton College, Cambridge, for the loan of items from the college’s collections.
Conservation work for the project was carried out by Lucy Cheng and Deborah Farndell, with the assistance of other members of the Library’s Conservation department, including Jim Bloxam, Rebecca Goldie, Emma Nichols, Shaun Thompson and Ngaio Vince-Dewerse.
Liam Sims processed images used to create the Virtual Exhibition. Photography of exhibits was undertaken by the Digital Content Unit, Cambridge University Library. The films were produced by Błażej Mikuła.
