The drama of July 1918 continued into August, with the assassination of Cheka chief Moisei Uritskii in Petrograd followed that same day with an attempt on Lenin’s life.  British-Bolshevik tensions would also approach zenith.  The Petrograd Embassy was stormed and the life of the young naval attache Francis Crombie lost.  The final exhibits in this month’s case look at the ongoing Allied involvement in Russian affairs, starting with a series of articles in the Times written by an unnamed Russian on the subject and then moving on to two 1918 postcards from Vladivostok from the Catherine Cooke postcard collection and ending with the account of John Ward’s “Die-Hards” in Siberia.
