Numerous plays, musical pieces, and artistic renditions of Quixote’s story have been created over the year, popularising the story and characters even further than the original texts.

We have tried to display some of the extremely varied forms of artistic interpretations of the story of Don Quixote held in the University Collections. One can see a rare “Opera-Comique” from our music department, and some wonderful engravings, which have been digitised and will soon be fully accessible on the Cambridge Digital Library.
