Don Quichotte conduit par la Folie et Embrase de l’Amour extravaguant de Dulcinee sort de chez luy pour estre Chevalier Errant, (‘Don Quixote, led by madness and the blazing extravangt love for Dulcinea, leaves home to be a knight errant’). Don Quichote is his horse, being led towards an anthropomorphic windmill  by the spirit of Dulcinea.

From a series of engravings illustrating Don Quixote, probably based on a series of 28 tapestries that Coypel designed for the manufacture des Gobelins.

This highly succesful series was produced continuously between 1714 and 1794.
