Caricatures of the Franco Prussian War and the Paris Commune

Many caricatures produced during the war and the siege of Paris depict the victorious German Emperor Wilhelm I as a comical or cynical old man conspiring with and manipulated by his Chancellor Otto von Bismarck. Along with the German soldiers, they are also featured as comical yet relentless conquerors and plunderers.
