Although just one of many such plans, this example is notable for having a flap which can be raised or lowered to show the situation at different times of day. Napoleon’s army is depicted attacking from bottom to top. The flap, here shown lowered (it is on slightly paler paper than the main sheet) depicts events late in the day, with upper-case letters keyed to the text on the right.
