John Moore (1646–1714)
Manuscript sermon notebook
London, ca 1700–1714
Given the length of his career within the Church, and the prestigious posts he held within it, Moore’s surviving published output of sermons is surprisingly small. His manuscript notebooks include some sermons written clearly in their entirety, and others where he corrected and re-expressed himself multiple times. Sermons of the period tended to be long, the one here on Job 2:10 covering fourteen closely-written pages and ending part-way through.
