Thomas Heyrick (d. 1694), ed. John Wells (b. 1964)
A Heyrick bestiary
Ely: printed by J. F. Coakley at The Jericho Press, 2013

Thomas Heyrick was a near contemporary of Moore’s in Market Harborough, where they both attended the grammar school, and at Cambridge (Moore at Clare Hall, Heyrick at Peterhouse). The modern selection of poems on animals, the first volume dedicated to Heyrick since the original 1691 collection, is edited by one member of University Library staff and hand printed by another, following the tradition of diligent study of Moore’s library initiated by Conyers Middleton. The image of the crocodile is by Jane Lydbury.
