An early purchase

William Harvey (1578-1657)
Exercitationes de generatione animalium
Amstelodami: apud L. Elzevirium, 1651

This is the earliest annotation of Moore’s so far discovered in one of his books; purchased while a student at Clare Hall in Cambridge, he was 17 when he purchased this copy of the first edition of Harvey’s work on reproduction in 1663. His interest in medicine and anatomy continued throughout his life, as did his book-buying, but regrettably as his library grew, so diminished the frequency of his annotating his books.
