As the fateful year of 1917 ended, the fallout from its October Revolution was growing in intensity and coverage. In 1918, the flames of revolution and counter-revolution would burn across the length and breadth of the dying Russian Empire. The subjects of the December/January part of this exhibition are: the main opposing forces (Red and White) in the growing civil war; the influence of the revolution on the arts; and the short-lived Constituent Assembly, whose only meeting took place in January 1918. This will be the last of the split-date cases; February 1918 would see the Russian calendar jump forward to join the Gregorian.
