Postcard from Paul Meyer to Henry Bradshaw
University Library, MS Add. 8916/A79/26
Paris, 1879.
The postcard displayed here was written by the famous romance philologist Paul Meyer to the then University Librarian Henry Bradshaw. Meyer explains that he would like to see the Tristan fragment when he visits Cambridge in April 1879 (the year is indicated by the postmark on the reverse of the postcard). The postcard reveals that Meyer was aware that Bradshaw had reclassified the fragment, and was seeking further details of its new position within the Library’s collections.
