The Neel and Wythorn chest

Regulations governing the operation of a loan chest, endowed with £100 in 1345 by Walter Neel and John Wythorn, including that three wardens be appointed annually and keep audited accounts; sums loaned depend on status of borrower and value of pledge; and pledge to be sold if loan unredeemed within one year, chest compensated and balance if any paid to borrower.
