Gala au profit des architectes prisonniers et déportés: ce programme édité par Publidis a été conçu et réalisé sous la direction de Raymond Gid

[Paris?]: Publidis, [1945?]

This gala programme with its blind stamped cover and heavy ‘vélin Crèvecœur’ paper for the ‘avant-programme’ was intended to be kept as a souvenir. The ‘avant-programme’ consists of eight poems including an extract from Paul Éluard’s poem ‘Liberté’. This opening shows an evocative illustration by the artist Valentine Hugo with a poem sent from his prison camp by Jean Garamond (Guy Lévis Mano, 1904–1980). The programme for the gala itself which probably took place in early 1945 has performances by musicians, orchestras and actors, including the celebrated actors and mime artists Jean-Louis Barrault, Étienne Decroux and Jacques Tati. The programme also carries 48 pages of advertising.
