This book was published on 30 June 1946 to provide financial support for the families of ten named printers killed by the Germans or who died in the camps, together with other unknown printers who had lost their lives. Contributors include the ubiquitous Paul Éluard, academicians Georges Duhamel and Jean Paulhan, Vercors (Jean Bruller) and Jean Schlumberger. A piece by Michel Bernstein, ‘Atelier de faux’ (false papers workshop), describes the work of the Défense de la France group in printing false papers. This is copy no. 146 of 400 numbered copies.
