The Hypnerotomachia Poliphili has always inspired passion in its readers; it is amongst the most sought-after books of the fifteenth century and has influenced generations of typographers, authors, poets and book designers. In 2013 Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy visited Cambridge University Library to view the Hypnerotomachia and, like Sisto Medici, was inspired to compose a poem in its honour. On display is Carol Ann Duffy’s autograph manuscript of the poem.
