MEANWOOD PARK LEEDS
SUNDAY

My Dear Parents.

The Hospital meals (which are frugal – civilan rations!! – and meagre) augmented by your so splendid parcels, have provided me with the best meals I’ve had since before going to war. I hope you will be able to keep up this splendid supply (surely there is a small boy available out of the JBT staff to stand in queues for fruit & tomatoes for Wounded Warriors?) and possibly increase it with doses of honey, jam, grapefruit and sides of ham.
