In partnership with Tim Longville, Riley founded the Grosseteste Press in 1966 and by the early 1970s was acting as business manager of the literary journal Grosseteste review, edited by Longville. Czargrad first saw print in volume 6 of the review, published in 1973, when the first two parts appeared.
